What is a platform lift?

The automation of a platform lift refers to an L shape platform that carries its passenger to ascend or descend. It is usually generated by screw and nut system. There are 3 main components that makes up a screw and nut lift. They are namely: the screw, guide rail and the nut.

Screw and nut drive lifts are incredibly simple. The platform is attached to the drive nut. When a control button is pressed in the lift, the motor turns the drive nut in the corresponding direction through a guide rail. When the motor turns the drive nut one way, the lift car goes up. When the motor turns the nut the other way, it goes down.

In Western Elevators Residential Series, the main advantage of a screw and nut lift lies in the minimal construction works required for installation. WE Residential Series comes with a complete shaft system that is self-encompassing.

There is no requirement to engage contractors to build bulky shaft and deep pit that is usually seen with conventional lifts.
